Do you know you can have your computer make a noise everytime you turn on and off caps lock? Go to your Control Panel’s Accessibility Options applet. On theKeyboard tab check the Use ToggleKeys box. Now you will hear a noise. Now Windows will make a high-pitched sound when Caps Lock is turned on and a lower sound when it is turned off. It will do the same for Num Lock and Scroll Lock.

Make sure when you are upgrading or buying a new computer that if you get a 64 bit operating system that your software can run on Vista 64 bit otherwise stay with 32 bit. This will save your headaches down the road.
The pros of 64-bit:
• Much larger address space. Add 4 gigabytes, 6GB, 8GB, whatever, and it’s all available for applications.
• Most 32-bit apps run well—sometimes better, because each 32-bit app gets its own 2GB of protected memory space.
• Compatibility with existing and future 64-bit applications.
The cons:
• Driver support may not exist for some older or obscure peripherals.
• Older 32-bit apps may not work.
• You will need more memory, because of something known as “code expansion.” The programming needed for 64-bit apps and the OS results in more memory being used by the OS and 64-bit apps.

Look for this button or switch which is usually located on the side, front, or the top part of the keyboard and verify it is set to the on or enabled position.

Defraging your hard drive on a regular basis is a good idea. It will help the speed of your computer by placing all the files in your computer in order for quicker access.
To perform a Disk Defrag do the following:
Windows XP - Click start, then all programs, accessories, system tools, and then click on Disk Defragmenter.
Windows Vista - Windows Vista performs a Disk Defrag on its own every week by default. You can manually do one if you would like by following the same steps above.
